About the Lions Green Canopy Environment Project…

In 2024, Lions at the Darwin Convention voted to establish a new environmental project spanning the whole of Australia and PNG MD201 – known as the Lions Green Canopy Environment Project.
This project will run until at least the end of June 2027, by which time the goal is to have planted one million new trees.
After that time the project may be extended, in which case the ongoing goal would be 500,000 new trees each year thereafter.
This is a great opportunity for clubs to partner with other community organisations, environmental groups such as Landcare and even other service organisations in a united bid to improve our environment.
It is also a great way to strengthen the relationship with your local council, and to work with them on their tree planting projects.
Did you know that the number one concern of people under the age of 40 is the environment? This makes the Lions Green Canopy Project a marvellous way of engaging a younger audience – probably one of the best ways ever to encourage younger people to join us.
And who doesn’t want to live in a greener environment?
