YOUTH OPPORTUNITIES

Leo Clubs

As the youngest members of the Lions organisation, Leos are devoted young people who realise the power of action. Through service to their community, they make the world a better place and find their own lives improved too.

Leo clubs may be based within a school or in the local community. A member of the sponsoring Lions club is appointed as a Leo Club Advisor, and school-based clubs will often also have a staff member to assist.

“The biggest benefit for me since becoming a Leo has been the relationships and the lifelong friendships I’ve developed.”

What is the Leo Advisory Panel?

The Leo Advisory Panel Australia (LAPA) is the national advisory body representing the voice of Leos across MD201 Australia. Composed of current and past State Leo of the Year winners as well as appointed representatives, LAPA works closely with the MD201 Leo Committee and the Lions Advisory Panel to advocate for Leo interests at a national level. Its purpose is to strengthen the relationship between Leos and Lions, drive strategic growth in membership and service, and shape the future direction of the Leo movement.
Operating under the leadership of the Immediate Past National Leo of the Year, LAPA meets monthly to discuss key issues, provide input on national initiatives, and collaborate on projects that enhance communication, visibility, and leadership opportunities for young people. The panel also plays a central role in delivering the national three year strategic plan, focusing on areas such as club growth, cross club collaboration, leadership development, and stronger Leo and Lion integration. The Chairperson for 2025 is Charlize Chow.
By bringing together passionate young leaders from across the country, LAPA acts as a connecting force, empowering Leos to create meaningful change, build a strong national network, and inspire the next generation of service minded leaders.
