YOUTH OPPORTUNITIES

Youth of the Year Program

The Lions Youth of the Year  program has a proud history in encouraging and fostering leadership skills in Australian students approaching the end of their high school years.

By emphasising qualities like contribution to the community and school, public speaking, academic skills, sporting and cultural involvement, Youth of the Year aims to bring forth the next generation of outstanding young Australians.

“Lions Youth of the Year was an incredibly rewarding experience. I have had the opportunity to develop invaluable skills, share my passions and learn from hardworking, passionate, and motivated young people from across Australia”

2021 Public Speaking Winner

Meet our 2022/23 Winners!

“In an increasingly politicised world, it becomes more important that the youth, who will build our future, develop the empathy and leadership skills that our communities need to ensure their voices are heard. Connecting the youth with these voices and skills now becomes our next aim – something I deeply care about, and something Lions YOTY continues to accomplish.”
