Twelve years ago we established the Lioness Wig Library, located in the Cancer Council building. The Library provides wigs and turbans to women who have lost their hair, usually as a result of chemo therapy. The library contains a large selection of wigs from which borrowers are able to choose. In making their selection clients are guided by club members who are trained to assist. A small hiring fee is charged. The club upgrades and replaces where necessary its supply of wigs on a regular basis.
On a visit to our Club in 2012 District Governor Deyann was so impressed with the project that she donated a sign to be hung over the door of the library. The Lioness Club of Tamworth is very grateful to DG Deyann for this kind gesture.
