1. “Fonnie Tresise Premier Project” Award Winners
Every year, one Lioness Club is recognised for its exemplary humanitarian service. The Lioness Clubs of Multiple District 201 submit a nomination for the prestigious annual “Fonnie Tresise Premier Project Award”.
The 2013-2014 Fonnie Tresise Premier Project Award was presented to Lioness Club Palm Beach Currumbin Q1 at the 63rd MD201 Lions Clubs International (Australia) Newcastle Convention.
Their winning project is The Tweed Heads Library Service for housebound users. A project supporting the Tweed Heads Library in providing regular access/delivery/collection of library resources to the socially housebound, physically challenged and aged in our local community. Ensuring the housebound and aged community enjoy social inclusion through library services. As well as library resources Lionesses are able to briefly socialise with housebound clients giving connection to the outside world and the gift of conversation.
