1. “Fonnie Tresise Premier Project” Award Winners
Every year, one Lioness Club is recognised for its exemplary humanitarian service. The Lioness Clubs of Multiple District 201 submit a nomination for the prestigious annual “Fonnie Tresise Premier Project Award”.
Our 2018-2019 Fonnie Tresise Premier Lioness Project award winner is…
The Lioness Club of Millicent in C2, and their entry is the ‘Lioness Bookshop project’. This is an amazing project began as a pop-up Bookshop for a Community event and due its popularity, became an ongoing project. Books are donated by the general community on a regular basis and Lionesses man the shop for 2 days per week. The building use is donated by a club member and there are zero overheads. All takings are 100% profit. The community donates the books and often purchase book whilst there.
“This is truly a community bookshop where people drop in to buy a book or two and have a chat.”
