Regional Lions Leadership Institute

The Regional Lions Leadership Institute is targeting those Lions and Leos who are looking to take on leadership positions at Club or District levels for the first time. It focuses on the skills required to build teams and manage people effectively. It also builds knowledge of Lions activities outside of club level and includes strategies for making change to move our organisation forward. There are no pre-qualifications required.

Advanced Lions Leadership Institute
Dates: 9th to 11th April 2021
Location: Nelson, New Zealand
Application Deadline: 9th January 2021
The Advanced Lions Leadership Institute is targeted towards those Lions who are looking to take on a leadership role at Zone, Regional and District levels. It focuses on higher level leadership skills, managing project portfolios, and dealing with the responsibilities of senior leadership within districts. Applicants must have completed a successful term as Club President, but not have yet attained the position of 1st VDG (a 1st VDG elect is eligible).
Note: There is no requirement for candidates for the position of District Governor to have completed the ALLI, although it is seen as a desirable.

Faculty Development Institute
Dates: 16th to 18th April 2021
Location: Sydney, Australia
Application Deadline: 16th January 2021
The Faculty Development Institute is designed to develop and expand the number of skilled lions’ trainers who can then conduct training at Club, District and Multiple District levels. The curriculum is designed to enhance training delivery skills and training techniques to increase the quality of training and overall effectiveness of Lions leadership programmes.
Qualified candidates are those Lions who have some experience as instructors at local Lions training events, have demonstrated basic instructional skills, and have a keen interest in further developing those skills.
Lions participating in the FDI will be required to conduct a local training event within six months of attending the institute, in order to complete the FDI.

Lions Certified Instructor Program
Dates: Postponed until further notice.
The Lions Certified Instructor Program is designed to develop and expand the number of the most senior skilled lions’ trainers. Lions who complete the LCIP are eligible to serve as faculty at locally approved institutes (ALLI, FDI, LCIP), as well as International FVDG/DGE Seminar and other training-related events conducted my LCI and from July 2020 it will be a requirement to have LCIP certification to be on faculty for these training programmes.
There are several pathways into LCIP but for this course it covers Lions who have training experience, but have not served as FVDG/DGE Seminar Group Leader or Lions Clubs International-directed institute faculty.
Each of the above Institutes are run as a residential institute and all candidates are required to commit to all days of the institute, attend all sessions and group meals. Meals and lodgings on twin share basis are provided by Lions Clubs International and Multiple District 201.
