“Lions on Safari: A Service Adventure”

This March, we’re taking our annual Lions Awareness Day to new heights with Lions on Safari: A Service Adventure—a month-long campaign showcasing the incredible work Lions are doing across Australia.

We invite you to join the adventure! Organise or participate in events happening nationwide and help us raise awareness for the causes we champion. It’s a fantastic way to highlight our impact and inspire new volunteers.

What is Lions on Safari?

Pack your sense of adventure! Lions on Safari will take you on a journey through community service, featuring environmental projects, acts of kindness, and exciting opportunities to get involved.

Celebrate key dates like Clean Up Australia Day, International Women’s Day, Harmony Week, and the International Day of Happiness with Lions making a positive impact in your neighbourhood.

How to Get Involved

Looking for ideas to celebrate Lions on Safari and important dates in March 2025? Here are some suggestions to inspire your Lions Club events:

  • Bunnings Barbecue (March 1-7): Partner with your local Bunnings for a barbecue or host a family-friendly event. Click here for more information about booking a spot!
  • Clean Up Australia Day (March 2): Organise rubbish clean-ups, recycling projects, or environmental awareness campaigns to engage the community in caring for the planet.
  • International Women’s Day (March 8): Organise impactful events and fundraisers that empower and support women in their communities. Consider raising funds for vital projects such as women’s community shelters, sanitation projects, or the PNG Birthing Mothers Projects, all of which contribute to the well-being of women.
  • National Leo Day (March 16): Celebrate the amazing impact Leos are making in their communities! Connect with your local Leo Club and collaborate on an event to highlight their incredible work.
  • International Day of Happiness (March 20): Organise events that spread joy and promote well-being, like games, celebrations, or activities that get people smiling. Promote happiness by highlighting human rights, environmental care, and social well-being.
  • Harmony Week (March 17 – 23): Encourage everyone to wear orange in support of cultural diversity. Consider hosting a sausage sizzle with an international food twist or inviting a local cultural dance or singing group to perform.

With these ideas, your Lions Club can make March a month to remember. The possibilities for Lions on Safari are endless!
