Bathurst’s Zoe Peters wins Lions Youth of the Year final for 2021

Posted on May 18th 2021 by in News

Zoe Peters of Denison College Bathurst has been awarded the title of Lions Youth of the Year for 2021.

Zoe and five other State Finalists competed for the top spot on stage at the Lions Australia National Convention, held in Canberra earlier this month.

Youth of the Year is designed to encourage student interest in leadership and the qualities required to take an active and constructive role in the community. A high level of academic, leadership, sporting, public speaking and citizenship achievement is sought in its potential winners. By emphasising these qualities it hopes to provide outstanding role models for the youth of Australia and an overall increase in the confidence of young men and women.

The 2021 Public Speaking prize was awarded to Fatima Merchant of Perth.

Lions Australia extends its congratulations to Zoe and Fatima, as well as their fellow State Finalists and all students who participated in this year’s competition.
