1. Environmental Photo Contest

2017 MD 201 Environmental Photo Competition

The MD 201 entry for the 2017 Environmental Photo Comp will be decided at the January 2017 Council Meeting.  The winner will be submitted as our representative in the Lions Clubs International Competition.
To be considered, your entry must be received at the National Office by 6 January 2017.

2016 MD 201 Environmental Photo Competition – Winner

Congratulations Beverley Hawkins of the Port Kennedy Lions Club District W2 for taking out the MD201 Environmental Photo Competition.

Beverley’s photo in the Animal Life Category was selected from an impressive array of entrants from all over the Multiple District and has been forwarded to Chicago for consideration in the 2016 Lions Club International Competition.

If you need inspiration to enter the Lions Environmental Photo Contest, just check out this shot by Australian entrant Naomi Vagg. Naomi of Hillston Lions Club in NSW won the ‘best of category’ in the Weather Phenomenon section of the 2010-11 awards.

Also featured is the sun on the horizon photo of a previous winner, Tony Barnett.

The Lions Environmental Photo Contest provides a way for Lions to portray, through an original photo, their pride and commitment to improving, protecting and preserving their environment. Every Lion from a club in good standing can enter a photograph of his or her immediate surroundings.

Categories include:

  • Animal life
  • Plant life
  • Urban or natural landscape
  • Weather phenomenon
  • Special theme: (This will change from year to year)

Winning club-level photographs will advance to the district, multiple district, and international competitions.

Registered attendees of the Lions International Convention will vote for their favourite in each category, as well as their overall favourite photograph.
The six Lions photographers will receive an award.

2. International Contests – Websites and Bulletins

The Lions Clubs International Contest provides Lions with the opportunity to showcase their hard work and creativity while sharing their accomplishments with others from around the world. Australia has recently won awards at both Multiple District and Club levels.

Contest Categories
The contest is comprised of two categories, including:
  • Newsletter (Bulletin)
  • Website (Web Site)
1. International Newsletter (Bulletin) Contest
Awards: First place plaque and four honorable mention certificates.
The contest is open to all Lions clubs and districts. (Not multiple districts.) The awards will be presented in each category.
2. International Website (Web site) Contest
Awards: First place plaque and two honorable mention certificates
The contest is open to all Lions clubs, districts and multiple districts. The awards will be presented in each category.
Contest Winners
Lions Clubs International will announce winners at the International Convention, on the Lions Clubs’ International Online Convention Website and later each year in the international editions of the LION Magazine Sep or Oct Editions on the LCI website
