The Lions Club of Lara (VIC) has celebrated the organisation’s international Centenary by launching a new club logo, hosting a charity afternoon tea and undertaking two community projects.
The Club hopes the clean yet striking lines of the new logo will portray it as the innovative and progressive organisation it has become.
“It’s out with the old but not forgotten, and in with the new,” said Lara President Jeff Cahn.
“The members believe the new logo will assist in the way we interact with the community as a vibrant and active club that is proactive as well as being reactive to situations that require our assistance.”
Along with the Lions logo itself, the traditional Lions colours of blue and gold have been used, along with a silhouette of the You Yangs (a series of granite ridges local to the area), reversed out of a gold semi-circle.
The Club has also installed two new bench seats along Hoffman Walk in Lara and has plans to install an outdoor television monitor on the local Woolworths building which will be used to display community announcements.
The Club celebrated the Centenary with a high tea on 30 April.
