Known as a ‘Lions Centennial Legacy Project’, the signs will be posted in front of significant buildings throughout the town and will depict an original photograph as well as historical facts and information, providing locals and tourists alike with a walk down memory lane.
The club has so far installed 17 signs along the heritage-listed Finlay Avenue and plans to install 11 more by November 2017.
The final and largest sign to be installed will be situated near the Town Square and will feature local history on one side and Lions Centennial information on the other.
The completed project will be unveiled as part of the Club’s Centennial celebrations in November. The club plans to create a two-day ‘expo’ featuring a display of Lions Clubs International history and comprehensive information about all current Lions Health, Welfare, Youth, and Marketing projects.
