The Goolwa Lions Club in South Australia has celebrated the Lions Centennial by donating two sailing boats to the Goolwa Aquatics Club, to help local youth learn to sail.
Sail Training is a program that has been run by volunteers in Goolwa for over 20 years. The Aquatics Club recently decided that the trusty but ageing fleet of Mirror dinghies needed to be upgraded.
When local Service Clubs were approached, all were pleased to be involved, and a new fleet of Pacer dinghies were donated.
The two boats purchased by the Goolwa Lions Club will shortly be fitted out with new sails, proudly displaying the Lions Centenary logo.
The Club also celebrated the Centennial on June 7 with a stand selling Lions Cakes and by having a new promotional banner installed at Goolwa Mall.
